CARMEL, Ind., October 18, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Allegion, a leading provider of security products and solutions, today announced the first integration between Overtur ™, Allegion’s digital environment linking all phases of construction in the design of openings, construction and ongoing management, and Software for Hardware® , an advanced software developed for distributors of doors, frames and hardware. The announcement comes ahead of this week’s DHI conNextions, where the two companies will demonstrate their collaboration.
Resellers of contractual and integrated hardware who engage Allegion on specifications written by Allegion Architecture Services, or who themselves use the Overtur platform to open specification writing and collaboration, can now export the information. from hardware specifications to the Software for Hardware platform and continue with the project process.
“The transition from an opening specification to the submission phase can be time consuming, especially if manual entry is involved,” said Michael rebbec, Product Owner for the integration of the Overtur platform at Allegion. “With this integration, we aim to equip Software for Hardware customers with the benefits of Overtur’s data-centric approach to open design with Software for Hardware’s expertise in estimating and detailing a project under construction. “
Overtur’s comprehensive platform allows all members of the project team to collaborate on the opening data of a project. During the design phase, collaborators can download door plans and schedules through a plug-in from Autodesk’s Revit program or by directly downloading Adobe PDF and Microsoft Excel documents. Once loaded, hardware consultants can assign and configure individual products with each opening, such as a lock, door closer, or exit device. Once finalized, project information is available in several formats, including hardware setup schedules and a fully written specification.
Customers who use Overtur for their aperture specifications (either through Allegion Architectural Services or on their own) can now benefit more from this technology. Once the login information is finalized, customers can export their data to the Software for Hardware platform without the need to manually enter data. Once imported into Software for Hardware, customers can add configuration and dimensional information needed for estimation and quotes.
“The integration of Overtur and software for hardware benefits our common customer base by providing a process that saves valuable time and effort,” said Ian oxman, co-owner of Software for Hardware. “Data duplication and errors are eliminated because the Overtur integration eliminates manual data entry. “
“Franck Ruane, President Quarts Hardware, MA Woburn, said, “Technology like Overtur can save the distributor many hours of data entry and reduce errors. Allegion and Software for Hardware have created a really useful tool for doors, frames and hardware distributors.
