Sam and Bucky have arrived! The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuted today, and it’s received a pretty warm welcome from MCU fans so far. As WandaVision before that, the final phase four show shines a light on characters who haven’t been overly explored because they’re not one of the main Avengers – and the internet. is there for that.

We learned a lot in the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We met Sam Wilson’s sister and his failing business. We caught up with Bucky’s psychologist and saw that Buck was still having nightmares about his time as a Winter Soldier. We met Sam’s new sidekick, Torres, and saw them in action. We met Bucky’s neighbor and realized that Bucky had killed the guy’s son during the Winter Soldier era.

And then there was the end, when we met. . . a new Captain America? All of that and a James Rhodes cameo too! No wonder Twitter is full of reactions to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Full of action !

To be fair, Bucky had a much more spectacular action streak in the episode. . . but it was all a dream. Don’t worry, Buck! The Marvel Cinematic Universe always has lots of stopped parts for his characters.

Love first Torres

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier introduced several new characters to the MCU, but it looks like the first favorite was Sam’s military sidekick. Was that how he quietly worshiped the Falcon?

Were you as relieved as the rest of us when Torres didn’t die at the hands of the MCU’s new villain?

Transitional love

It’s like yesterday we couldn’t imagine a world without WandaVision. Now we can’t believe The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is only six episodes!

Hi Bucky

Poor Bucky’s mind went through so much that the nightmare showing him as the murderer Winter Soldier was a pretty effective fake.

We can only hope that Bucky doesn’t sink into the deep end the same way Wanda did.

Sam’s been through a lot in this opening chapter of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but the moment he really connected with all of us was when he was turned down for a loan. Nothing says more strongly “average joe” than having bad credit.

There’s no way to get to the end of the show without having a scene where Bucky confesses his sins to his neighbor, right?

Oh hi

What could be worse than a liana? A flying creeper, of course.

Reality check

Who wouldn’t be 100% for a daredevil to restart or Matt Murdock and his team are taking on MCU banks?

That smile tho

We have a feeling a lot of Bucky detractors will change their minds throughout The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, if they haven’t already.

Off brand

Hey, you get what you pay for. Betcha this beanie shrinks after the first wash.

Chic finish

The era of fancy generics is over. Long live the era of the fanciful end credits! Now if only we could get some funny musical numbers for Sam and Bucky. . .
