Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Mohan Bhagwat said people across India are united despite diversity and the repeal of Section 370 in Jammu and Kashmir has served the purpose for which Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee sacrificed his life.

Bhagwat was on a four-day visit to Jammu, where he chaired several meetings of his organization, met with prominent figures, addressed a selected gathering at the Zorawar Singh auditorium, and interacted with RSS workers and volunteers. via online support, following the Covid19 pandemic. Bhagwat reached Jammu on September 30 and is due to leave on the evening of October 3.

This is the RSS chief’s first visit to Jammu after August 5, 2019, when the special status of J&K was revoked and the state was downgraded in the two Union Territories of J&K and the Ladakh. The RSS supported the decision of the BJP-led NDA government and appreciated them for making this historic and bold move in the national interest. His last visit to Jammu was in 2016.

“We the Indian people are one and united by a common thread of our millennial tradition and culture … We may live in different states under different systems, but this ‘Rashtra’ binds us together,” Bhagwat said in s ‘addressing a rally in Jammu.

He said that J & K’s system was transformed because it was not natural to live under the old system. “Previously the system was not natural, so many people fought for change. Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee from the days of Praja Paris has fought for this and sacrificed … Today his sacrifice paid off and I could see the happiness here, ”Bhagwat said. However, he warned that simply changing the system will not be enough and cannot unite us all.

“We have to change the mindset now. The systems are run by individuals and the individuals come from this society … places have decided to live together and there is also an emotional integration.

“People have lost their balance in life, they go to extremes, because of which there are conflicts and therefore extremism is on the rise … People are discriminating because of their inflated egos and this discrimination is also prevalent in India… It comes from outside, ”Bhagwat said. During his meetings with members of the RSS, Bhagwat urged them to expand the network of shakhas through J&K to instill patriotism among the people here.
