Peter Beaumont of The Guardian in Lviv talks about a confrontation between an elderly resident of Melitopol and Russian soldiers.
The Russians claimed to have taken the coastal town today and – although still unconfirmed – this incident suggests that even some Russian residents are not very happy to see them.
This is what he told the soldiers: “The Russians invading Ukraine, it’s so screwed up! What are you doing here? We have our life and you have yours. I am Russian too, but I live in this country.
“You have your own country and we have ours. You don’t have any problems in your own country? Are you all rich there? Shame on you!”
