Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with Christian Berger, Head of the European Union Mission in Egypt, and Marco Magiulro, Director of the Mission’s Green and Sustainable Transformation Department, to discuss means of cooperation between the two parties in the health sector.
During the meeting, the Minister of Health and Population thanked the European Union for its cooperation with Egypt in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to its continuous support and cooperation in order to improve the quality of medical services provided to citizens.
Abdel Ghaffar underlined the will of the Egyptian state to expand the construction of green facilities, in addition to smart facilities based on artificial intelligence, which will reflect on the improvement of health services, while welcoming the cooperation with the EU to develop a specific strategy to build these facilities as soon as possible, with a focus on overcoming all obstacles and challenges that may face moving the plan forward.
The minister ordered to generalize and implement the digital transformation strategy in all programs, services and projects of the ministry, to ensure the facilitation of the provision of services to citizens, in addition to discussing the cooperation between the two parties in the area of public health initiatives. so that you can draw a map of diseases and create a health plan to fight them.
Separately, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, said the minister referred to cooperation in the national project for the development of the Egyptian family, through the provision of planning services. high-quality family planning, and supporting community activities to increase the likelihood of demand for family planning services.
He added that the two sides discussed cooperation in the field of basic health care, supporting and equipping the care units and providing them with the latest medical devices as well as medical supplies and medicines, in addition cooperation in the field of training of medical managers of workers in basic care units.
