The sale will help the county collect overdue property taxes

SOMERSET, Pa., Aug. 16, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Somerset County Tax Claims Office’s annual tax sale will be held virtually on GovDeals, the leading online marketplace for more than 16,000 government agencies and educational institutions to sell their surplus to more than 4.8 million registered buyers. The sale is being conducted to collect funds owed to the county for unpaid property taxes, federal liens, municipal claims, or other costs. The one-day event showcasing hundreds of residential and commercial plots will take place on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, with starting bids equal to the amount of taxable interest owed on each property.
